StandardYou didn’t give in to the hate and didn’t shy away from the inevitable misogynist backlash. Not only was there canonically no reason at all not to cast a female as the 13th Doctor, but there was actually every reason to do it. Because after over 50 years of white male Doctors, now was without a doubt the time to finally expand beyond that. Rebirth and reinvention is at the absolute core of the show. Peter has been magnificent (as were Chris, David and especially Matt) and there’s every reason to hope that even better times await.

Except maybe the SDCC Arcade set (if I can find a non-KO).

The 12th Doctor’s best speech
StandardI know folk rate the Zygon Invasion war speech, but that wouldn’t make my Top 3. Although The Doctor Falls wasn’t quite the best Capaldi episode (although it was definitely right up there, and the best in the series by far), I do think it had his best speech.
Fanstoys has a crack at minibots
StandardRight, Fanstoys Spindrift, or Masterpiece Seaspray, if you will. Out of the box I’d say the bot really impresses. Very sturdy and hefty, with good posing. I’m impressed. That transformation though feels far fiddlier than it needed to be, as if the torso section has simply just been over-engineered a tad. And the alt is OK, but not sensational. The arms, torso and legs don’t quite line up perfectly leaving everything looking just ever so slightly wonky. Can’t say the head at the rear bothers me, though, unlike some others.
It maybe feels like a bit of a nearly but not quite in all areas except the bot, which is definitely a winner at least. And I’m definitely enjoying him a lot.
