In a career writing about video games, the act of scribbling out ‘Spiderman’ with a red pen and scrawling ‘Spider DASH Man’ in the margins is an act I’ve performed countless times.
In other news, the photo mode in MARVEL’S SPIDER DASH MAN on PS4 is just as much fun as it was in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Oh my god! It was amazing to be part of the Steel Media team which, astonishingly, won the Special Effect #ChickenForCharity PUBG Tournament! We’ve raised £440 (so far) for the wonderful people who work there. We’d love to raise even more so please do donate – Special Effect does such amazing work.
I’ve just realised I’ve passed the 800 hours mark on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. It’s rare for a game to hold my attention beyond 15-20 hours so, really, I’m not sure what’s going on. I just love it and hardly a day passes when I don’t crave a few rounds with pals. Wish I had stats for my lifetime hours spent on SWOS/PES/FIFA (and perhaps Super Mario Kart) to compare.
I recently played through Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. It’s a game about a woman who screams a big fuck you to every obstacle and voice of doubt that stands in her way. And I loved it.

Having steered completely clear of copyrighted music, I’ve started dabbling. In every instance so far YouTube has flagged it up and the copyright owner has greenlit, albeit with the addition of ads. Which is completely fair enough. Had one today though which was blocked, and it’s a right pain in the arse too as the track was perfect. Oh well. The second version still works. If only there was a way to know ahead of editing?
