Sometimes having super-low expectations can be a really good thing.

This was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment pre-order from a while back that come release day I wasn’t hugely excited about, if I’m honest. But I’m enjoying him a lot in hand. There are some peculiar design elements – very few ratchets, slightly unusual plastic (feels like DX9, but thinner). The transformation has a little more panel forming than I’d like, too, and as a result is a bit fiddly (although nowhere near, say, Toyworld Primorion levels). But he tidies up very nicely in both modes. The light-up eyes are great (although dead looking when off or in bright light) and he’s got a lot of character.

Thinking of buying something from Toyworld? I like some of their stuff, so I don’t blame you, but make sure you go into it with your eyes open…
British politics isn’t always bad, I guess. I feared the worst, and while the Tories (and the vile DUP) will be in government, Hard Brexit (and surely Theresa May) are over, you’d think.

I’ve clocked 107 hours on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds since I bought it on April 11th. This may or may not sound like a lot to you but it most definitely is for me. In fact, I’ve only ever clocked more hours on one other Steam game – Dark Souls II. And I’ve played it more than Dark Souls III, which astonishes me.

Transformers Prime Vehicon – certainly one of the greatest Deluxes of all time. A great bot, an incredible alt and a magical kibble-hiding transformation.
He’s a handsome chap, certainly. Although I have no special attachment to the IDW comics, the character or the DJD, so…

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve chosen to re-focus my collection a bit. Staying focused is always tough, and I’d got to the level where the spending and space requirements were spiraling a bit. So I’ve decided to focus mainly on Masterpieces from characters in Transformers: The Movie (which ultimately is the thing that’s dearest to my heart), my Optimus Prime collection and some select CHUGs mainly spanning Titans Return and Combiner Wars.

The first of two articles I’ve written on Takara and Hasbro Transformers Masterpieces will appear in next month’s Collectors Gazette!

I’ve just had a piece published on the BLB blog about the challenges of parenting with chronic pain:

I’ve previously had a piece published there about caring for a partner who suffers from chronic pain:

I’m enjoying this non-games freelancing and will hopefully be doing more in the future, particularly on the subject of parenting.
